Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Social Engine ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information in connection with our website, applications, and related services (the "Services"). It applies to visitors and registered users. Our Terms of Service govern your use of the Services.
1. Who we are and scope
Social Engine operates the Services and is responsible for the processing described in this policy for personal data we determine the purposes and means of processing, subject to the roles and relationships described in Section 2.
When you use third-party social networks, those platforms are independent controllers of data they collect about you; their privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms except as described here regarding data we process on your behalf to deliver the Services.
2. How we act in relation to your content
Depending on your use, we may process data as a "processor" or "service provider" on your instructions when you (or your organization) schedule, publish, or store content and related information through the Services, and as a "controller" for account, billing, security, and product-operations data about our business relationship with you. Where a customer organization is the data controller, that organization is responsible for providing notices to their end users and for lawful bases for any processing of personal data the organization makes available in the product.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
We collect information you submit when you register, set up a workspace, invite team members, connect social accounts, create or schedule content, request support, respond to surveys, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include name, email address, organization name, role, billing and payment-related details (where applicable, often processed by our payment partners), and the content of messages you send to us.
3.2 Information collected automatically
We automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use the Services, such as device type, browser type, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, log data, pages or screens viewed, referring URLs, crash diagnostics, and service performance metrics. We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies as described in Section 5.
3.3 Information from third parties and integrations
When you connect a social network, advertising platform, or other integration, we receive tokens, account identifiers, profile or page metadata, permissions you grant, and the information needed to post or retrieve content in accordance with that integration and your settings. The scope depends on the platform and the permissions you approve.
3.4 Content you process through the Services
We process drafts, media, captions, links, and scheduling metadata you choose to create or import in the product. This may include personal data of third parties if you include it in your content; you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process such data, where required.
4. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including authentication, scheduling, posting, and collaboration features;
- operate, secure, and debug the product, including fraud detection, abuse prevention, and service reliability;
- communicate with you about the Services, such as service-related notices, support responses, and, where consistent with your choices or applicable law, product updates and marketing;
- process payments, invoices, and subscription management where applicable;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; and
- analyze aggregated or de-identified data to understand usage patterns and to develop new features, where we do not need to and do not identify you in such analysis.
4.1 Legal bases (where required)
Where the GDPR or similar laws require a legal basis, we process personal data on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services (balanced against your rights); compliance with a legal obligation; and, where required, your consent, which you may withdraw in accordance with law.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to support essential site functions (for example, session and security), remember preferences, measure traffic and product usage, and improve performance. You can control many cookies through your browser and, where we offer a cookie or analytics preference control in the app, through that control.
Disabling certain cookies may limit parts of the Services. Some analytics may be conducted using aggregated or pseudonymous identifiers.
6. How we disclose information
We do not sell your personal data for money. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers and subprocessors. We share data with vendors that host our infrastructure, provide email delivery, analytics, customer support tools, security monitoring, and payment processing, subject to appropriate contractual protections.
- Connected platforms. When you use integrations, we exchange data with those platforms to perform actions you request (for example, publish a post) within the permissions you grant.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy that is no less protective where required by law.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or the public, including fraud prevention and enforcement of our Terms of Service.
- With your direction. We may share information when you request or authorize it, for example by inviting a teammate or enabling a third-party app.
7. International transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. If we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms required by law, and address transfers as required by applicable regulations from time to time.
8. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Retention periods vary by data type; for example, we may keep security logs and billing records for longer than transient product analytics. When retention ends, we delete or de-identify data where feasible, subject to legal holds or backup systems that may retain copies for a limited period under technical constraints.
9. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, monitoring, and employee training. No method of storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for promptly revoking access you no longer need.
10. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and opt out of certain marketing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10.1 How to exercise rights
Submit a request to info@socialengine.site with enough detail for us to verify and respond. We may need to confirm your identity before processing certain requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, subject to law.
10.2 California residents (summary)
If the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) applies, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, and opt-out of certain "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, if applicable, as well as rights related to sensitive personal information, where we process any such categories. We describe our collection in Sections 3 and 4; we do not "sell" personal data as defined in the CCPA/CPRA in the conventional sense, but we use cookies and analytics that may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some interpretations—where required, you may use applicable opt-out tools we provide in the product or the Global Privacy Control signal where we honor it, as our practices evolve. Please contact us for the current options.
10.3 European and UK users (summary)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may have the rights under the GDPR, including the rights described in Article 15–22, subject to conditions and limitations. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our representative contact for this policy (if required) is the same as in Section 13 unless we publish a different address.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16, or the age required in your country for valid consent to data processing, whichever is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in that category. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information where required.
12. Marketing communications
Where we send promotional emails, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting info@socialengine.site. We may still send non-promotional, service-related messages (for example, security alerts, receipts, and legal notices) as permitted by law.
13. Third-party sites and services
Our website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Social networks, payment processors, and other integrations you enable have their own terms and policies that govern your relationship with them.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice as required by law, such as by email or an in-app notice, before the change takes effect where appropriate.
15. Contact us
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact us at info@socialengine.site or our contact page. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also have the right to contact your data protection authority. If we appoint a data protection officer or an EU/UK representative in the future, we will update this section with the relevant contact details.
